XBRL

Structure information

A tagging language that associates financial information with concepts and a context for computer processing.

iXBRL

Combine two views

XBRL tags are embedded in an XHTML document: a browser-readable presentation and machine-readable data.

ESEF

A publication framework

For in-scope issuers, the annual financial report is prepared in XHTML. IFRS consolidated financial statements are tagged in iXBRL.

Scope and applicable rules must be checked for each issuer and year. Reference: ESMA — Electronic Reporting.

Your practical questions

Control the substance.
Structure the presentation.

A framework aligned with your publication needs and organisation.

Is Disclosure Management limited to XBRL?

No. It covers document production, data connections, collaboration and approvals. XBRL or iXBRL tagging forms part of the process when the required format calls for it.

What is the difference between a taxonomy and tagging?

The taxonomy provides concepts for structuring information. Tagging associates report information with those concepts and specifies the context. Selecting mappings requires a business review.

What does block tagging of notes mean?

It means tagging blocks of information, such as notes or accounting policies, rather than only individual values. Under ESEF, applicable IFRS note requirements must be considered when preparing and reviewing the report.

Does a tool alone guarantee compliance?

No. Tools support production and checks, but data, tagging choices and approvals require review by qualified stakeholders. We help organise the process and clarify responsibilities.

Can we start from existing documents and processes?

Yes. We start with your templates, sources and approval workflows. The project can improve the existing setup or deploy a solution on a timetable suited to your needs.
