In a growing international group, the finance team needs to reconcile actual data, budgets and forecasts quickly. The project undertaken with Wifirst aims to structure a common reporting and planning framework that supports the group’s development while keeping analyses clear.
Context
Wifirst is a B2B telecom operator specialising in managed network infrastructure. Its international expansion and multi-entity organisation increase the need to consolidate financial data, compare countries and manage indicators consistently.
Project challenges
- Establish a common source for group financial reporting.
- Harmonise master data, consolidation scopes and business rules.
- Structure a collaborative consolidated budgeting process.
- Compare actuals, budgets and forecasts in the same reporting output.
- Speed up the production of analyses for the finance team.
The approach
Calisto Consulting supports Wifirst in defining and implementing a reporting and consolidated budgeting model based on Anaplan FCR. The approach starts by clarifying management needs, responsibilities and required data, before building a model shared by the stakeholders.
The framework covers data collection, controls, consolidation rules, reports and performance analysis. Particular attention is paid to consistent dimensions — entities, periods, scenarios, responsibility centres and indicators — to limit manual adjustments.
A progressive implementation
- Define finance requirements and use cases.
- Define the data model and common master data.
- Build reporting, budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Implement controls and reports.
- Perform acceptance testing, support change and develop team skills.
Expected benefits
The project aims to improve data traceability, reduce work outside the system and connect management reporting with budgeting. The finance team gains a more consistent view of group performance and a tool able to evolve with its organisation.
Calisto Consulting’s role
Calisto connects financial requirements, the data model and the EPM solution through scoping, design, integration, acceptance testing and user support. This approach helps ensure the model’s functional relevance and operational adoption.
